Sadly New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but the styles seen on the runway always leave a lasting impression for the upcoming year. At Modaselle we wanted to make sure we incorporated what was seen on the runway straight to our customers. Here are some trends that are going to be taking 2018 by storm!
Hello spring and summer! Yellow is seen as the new “it” colour for the season. Many models strutted their stuff in glowing sunshine-esk dresses. Instead of pulling out your cream or white coloured bag for spring, try for a bolder and preppier choice. The Louis Vuitton Damier Cubic East-West Speedy is a great compliment to any neutral outfit choice. This bag is in good condition.
We’ve already been seeing this trend transpire the last few months. Any of the socialite or “it” girls on social media are rocking track pants or an oversized sweater with some swanky kicks. The look from gym to everyday has now crossed over. When looking for a handbag to accent this “casual” attire, go with neutrals and a more “slouchy” look and not so structured. The Black Givenchy Medium Nightingale is the perfect compliment. This bag is in good condition.
Stripes has always been a style people have been on-board with. Bolder lines, more minimal, pin-striped… it’s been around for a long time. However, vertical stripes haven’t been as popular, up until now. The vertical stripe is meant to help elongate the silhouette and our Prada Black and Gold Nappa Stripe Tote is great for this. This tote is in great condition.
It may take a while for this trend to come back in, but we are already starting to see celebrities (like Rihanna) throw clutches around their waists creating an homage to a fanny pack. Don’t think 80’s style, but more upscale and classy. Try opting for one of our clutches with a longer strap and twisting it around your waist. The Proenza Schouler Wallet comes with a link shoulder strap excellent for wrapping around the waist. This clutch/wallet is in good condition.
What do you think of the new trends that are on the rise for 2018? Which ones do you love and which make you cringe? Are there any we missed that you want to see incorporated into a handbag - like tie-dye? Leave us a comment below!
